Sambo has said.
Sambo’s spokesman, Mr. Umar Sani, in a

meeting with the Nigerian community and their friends in Belgium.
He said the intervention would also add about 20million metric tonnes to the nation’s domestic food supply.
He added that the sector currently
contributes 40 per cent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product and
employs about 70 per cent workforce.
“The vice president added that the
Federal Government has completed 10 new power plants which would add up
to 4700MW of electricity to the national grid and that the process of
their privatisation has since commenced for optimal efficiency,” the
statement quoted him as saying.
He further stated that contract has been
awarded for hydropower projects in Zungeru and Mambila which, on
completion, would generate 700MW and 3050MW respectively.
He also said the Gurara Dam project

addition to providing 3600MW power was in progress.
Sambo added that the transport and

In the education sector, he stated that already 12 new federal universities have taken off to complement the existing ones.
He charged members of the Nigerian
Community in Belgium to contribute positively to the development of
their country and to be good ambassadors of Nigeria at all times by
